Our Backgrounds

Zi Yang

Long before Yang found her way to poetry, she was learning how to listen. With a degree in broadcasting and years spent as a radio announcer, she discovered early that words carry weight — that the right ones, offered gently, can reach someone exactly where they are. That quiet attentiveness followed her into a second career in international commerce, where she spent years building trust across cultures and languages, always finding the shared humanity beneath the differences.

Poetry, for Yang, is where all of that listening finally found its voice. She writes from a place of deep empathy — for the small griefs and quiet joys that make up a life, for the people who feel unseen, for the moments we don't always have words for ourselves. Her poems don't just ask to be read; they sit with you. Her followers often say her work feels like being understood, and that's exactly the gift Yang hopes to offer: a reminder that no one is as alone in their feelings as they think.

Jerry Fuller

Jerry's career has always been guided by a simple instinct: understand the system before you try to change it. That instinct took shape early, with a degree in Operations Research, and carried him through decades of senior management roles spanning manufacturing, management consulting, and higher education. Across each of these very different worlds, he brought the same rigor and curiosity — asking not just what was happening, but why, and what could work better.

That same curiosity now shows up in how Jerry spends his time. He's an avid photographer, drawn to the way a single frame can hold a moment still long enough to really see it. He's also a dedicated reader of contemporary ideas, regularly seeking out and reviewing articles on the issues shaping our world — always looking to understand a topic more fully before forming a view.

Skills worth sharing
Stories worth discovering

Our purpose is to share what we've learned through years of hands-on experience, and to open a door to literary works we believe are worth discovering. We built this site because we've found genuine value in both the skills we practice and the books, stories, and writing that have shaped our thinking — and we want to pass that along. Rather than simply presenting information, we aim to teach from lived experience and to introduce visitors to literature that might otherwise go unnoticed, with the hope that they come away both more capable and more curious.
